XML mal kurz auf den Punkt gebracht
Da fragt man sich doch, warum es XML-Bücher mit bis zu 1000 Seiten gibt, wenn man sich bei O’Reilly für wenig Geld ein XML. Kurz und gut in die Hosentasche stecken kann. Die Antwort ist, dass das Kurz und gut-Büchlein von Robert Eckstein (Webmaster in a Nutshell und Using Samba) trotz Einführung am besten in die Tasche eines Markup-Profis oder eines SGML-Jüngers passt. Ohne fundiertes Vorwissen im Markup-Bereich kommt man mit XML. Kurz und gut nicht allzu weit — der erprobte HTMLer kann jedoch preiswert einen guten Überblick über Eigenschaften und die Terminologie von XML, einer DTD, XSL, XLINK und XPointer gewinnen. Wer schon mit der eXtensible Markup Language arbeitet, hat mit XML. Kurz und gut eine solide Nachschlagebasis in Referenzform, die die wesentlichen Punkte der Arbeit mit XML umfasst. –Wolfgang Tress
